We envision a community where accessible mental health services are available for all who need them. We know the many obstacles that can prevent people from getting the help they need and we are committed to being part of the solution that sees those obstacles come down.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and this year’s theme is, “In Every Story, There is Strength.” We know each person’s story is different but our clients still have much in common; they are resilient and strong.

Sharing our burdens allows for understanding and empathy and together, we can build towards hope.

If you would like to be connected with our mental health providers, please call 269.344.0202

Thank you so much to the Stryker volunteers who came out to our Kalamazoo offices and helped beautify our outdoor spaces!! Thanks to many donors and volunteers over the years, our outdoor spaces are a safe and beautiful place where children and families can run, explore, and bond during family session times.

As the weather gets warmer, the sounds of delight as children play on our playground or chase each other are always heard and appreciated by staff. We are so grateful to Stryker for getting our outdoor space ready for the season!

Last week we joined many community partners at Representative Julie Rogers’ block party. With so much on the line for our clients and community as a new state budget and federal bills are being planned, we do what we can to be the voice of the under resourced we serve. We appreciate Representative Rogers being open to hearing from a variety of nonprofits serving our community!

In Michigan, there are approximately 10,000 children in foster care and nearly 200 children who still need an adoptive family.

Our foster parents have access to training, 24 hour emergency support, access to our HANDLE WITH CARE fund to help support the basic needs of the child, and much more. If you want to learn more about becoming a foster parent, visit our website: https://fcsource.org/be-a-foster-parent/

This week is Children’s Mental Health Action Week focusing on Wellness. Wellness includes all aspects of our health - physical, mental, behavioral, and spiritual. Wellbeing is defined by individuals, families, and communities based on their needs, goals, and desired outcomes. Take time to care for yourself and model wellness for children and youth!

We know how important wellness is to the mental and physical health of the children and families we serve. Thank you for joining us in our effort to ensure our community as access to the mental health we all deserve.

We so appreciate Eugenia Cole for donating Easter bags with Discovery Toys and treats for our families. This is Eugenia's 5th year donating to our clients, so we know just how much these mean to the children who receive them!

With partners like Eugenia, we can meet critical developmental needs for the most under resourced among us. Thank you!
