Recently Korey Stone, Foster Care Licensing Specialist, attended a child abuse prevention coalition event with community partners committed to keeping children safe and supported.

While at the event, Korey ran into one of our extraordinary foster parents and her biological daughter who were out supporting the cause as well. Our foster parents aren’t just heroes to the kids in their care, they are heroes to us all, often committing themselves to changing the systems that contribute to children being placed in foster care.

Thank you, Rachel and Grace Boyle, and all of our foster parents who are doing the necessary work of caring for the most vulnerable children in our community.

We, like so many of you, enjoyed a break on Monday to witness the solar eclipse. It was such a delight to see staff and family gathered to share in the awe and wonder of space!

We value how hard our staff works to bring hope to the community, so any chance we can get to bring us all together outside of the set work structure, is so important to what we do here as well.

We hope you enjoyed your solar eclipse experience too!

Thank you so much to Eugenia Cole for donating Easter bags with Discovery Toys and treats for our families! We know each of these items will bring an incredible amount of joy, confidence, and support to the children and families served by our Agency.

With partners like Eugenia, we can meet critical and developmental needs for the most under resourced among us. Thank you!!

March is Social Worker Month so today we want to celebrate our many extraordinary social workers here at Family & Children’s Services!

Social workers enter the profession because they truly want to help others. They go through years of education, training, and supervision so they can do the delicate but important work of meeting people where they are and helping them achieve their goals. In short, social workers are often the source of hope for the most under resourced in our community.

Thank you so much to you all who followed your passion and desire to truly help others by way of this hallowed profession. We are so grateful for all you do to forge happier, healthier individuals and families.
