HANDLE WITH CARE: Never More Than Now

March, 2021

No one has escaped the discomfort of living under the COVID-19 pandemic. We have all been touched in some way by what we have experienced in the United States—some more, some less.

The people Family & Children Services serve in our community, however, have been hit by the pandemic more than most. Already in need of help for mental health and other challenges, our clients have called us for help in higher numbers than ever before.

HANDLE WITH CARE is a Family & Children Services fund designated specifically for these kinds of critical needs from our clients. Every dollar donated to this fund goes directly to meet the needs of those who find themselves in crisis. They need help and they need it now.

HANDLE WITH CARE provides a rent payment when someone has lost a job and is on the verge of eviction.

HANDLE WITH CARE pays for a mechanic’s bill when a vehicle breaks down and needs repairs so that the owner can make it to work.

HANDLE WITH CARE delivers a bag of groceries to a family going hungry.

HANDLE WITH CARE pays for a box of diapers or a canister of baby formula when a baby has run out.

HANDLE WITH CARE pays for a few items of essential clothing, a warm coat and shoes, when the house burns down and leaves a traumatized family homeless.

HANDLE WITH CARE helps those who have nothing to fall back on. Their wallets are empty, a bank account doesn’t exist, and no credit is available.

These are your neighbors who need a hand to get back up.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, these types of critical needs have been on a steep increase. Mental health issues have been exacerbated by social isolation. Unemployment numbers have soared, too often leading to homelessness. Children have suffered from anxiety and depression while school doors have closed.

We need your help. We need your help so that we can reach out to those in our community who are feeling the desperation. Please consider giving a tax-deductible gift to the HANDLE WITH CARE fund.

Thank you for caring.
