My Philosophy:
I am of the belief that every individual deserves to have and achieve success as defined by them, whether this is an opportunity to learn to develop healthy relationship skills, set career goals, battle addiction, heal unresolved grief or manage anxiety and depressive symptoms, my goal as a therapist is to assist clients along this journey and provide the tools for growth and change. I meet my clients where they are in their process, and encourage increased self-awareness, insight, compassion and love for self.

I have had the opportunity to work with individuals and families from a diverse population, struggling with homelessness, depression, anxiety, fear, anger, grief, loss, alcohol, and drug addictions. My knowledge is comprised of specialized study through MCBAP, (Michigan Counseling board for Addiction Professionals) approved education specific to counseling/professional ethics. I have provided treatment services in an outpatient setting both individual and group counseling, with a particular interest in Women’s recovery and trauma. I have had the opportunity to observe Stages of Change, Recovery and Healing. I am also trained to provide the necessary documentation to complete the DLR (Driver License Restoration) for individuals that have lost their license due to DUI or other charges.

Special Interests:
My Specialty includes treatment for the individual and their families struggling with addiction, both alcohol and other drugs. This includes psycho education along with helping people develop healthy coping skills, set boundaries, and implementation of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for developing the tools for early recovery to manage, urges, cravings, depression and trauma.

I received my Masters Degree in Counseling from Spring Arbor University in 2013 and obtained my CAADC (Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor) through MCBAP approved education specific to counseling/professional ethics, in 2016. I have obtained over 300 hours of direct supervision specific to the treatment of alcohol/drug use disorder clients, and over 180 Continuing education and training credits that are specific to substance abuse. I have completed Veterans training through Star Behavioral Health with a specific focus on PTSD and Substance abuse.
